Dear Madam/Sir,

I am writing you on behalf of many ClipMaster users who experienced a problem with this otherwise great device.
After much e-mailing and discussing I decided that the best is to turn to the makers of CM for solution:

The problem in short:
*********************

Everytime we record from a pre-recorded tape (the source being a VCR or a camcorder) a distorted video noise
appears at the bottom of each recording. The recording source is correctly set, and no horizontal adjusting can solve
this problem....(since when the bottom noise disappers, it all starts at the top...)

In fact what happens is simple:

CM records this because it IS on the tape...actually it is the fault of analogue VHS recording...

On TV one never sees this 'feature' because the bottom of the picture (the tube) is covered by the TV set...so this is actually on the
video tape but you can not see it when watching it on the TV...

However when CM records the video source it records this part of the screen too...

(That's why when one records directly from TV or through a camcorder -
not from tape - the noise is not present)

Unfortunately there is no tools included with CM to work around thsi problem...

The included Ulead VideoStudio 3 does not include a cropping function (unlike Ulead MediaStudio) a nice solution for FAST Multimedia would be
to add this to the FASTEasy software.

- The best would be if the user could set which part he/she wants to record and only this would be
recorded in the first place....this would be true to the idea of CM: true direct mpeg recording

- A less good solution would be to include this feature in the Editor bar, so after
making the recording we could crop off the unwanted bottom noise. Unfortunately this would also mean
that the mpg file would need to be compressed again - pretty time consuming :0(

- Include a MediaStudio 5LE (with cropping enabled) instead of VideoStudio 3 as a software...

If the above is impossible and since I am not sure whether the FASTEasy software is still under development or not, even a small standalone freeware program
would be fine which users could download from the web...

I know that the above changes are expensive and take a long time to assemble. I also know that CM is not the premiere product
of FAST anymore. However by coming up with a solution you could make many of yours consumers more satisfied with this great little equipment.
CM is a wonderful tool but if this very much missed feature would be included it would be unbeatable...
